The Year of the Fun Run!

2013 was the year of the fun run! We completed 3 fun runs as a family and Sean also did Tough Mudder (which I don't have any photos from because we didn't get to go watch him)
In march we did our first "Color Run", then May was the "HBF Run for a Reason", October Sean did "Tough Mudder" then in November was our second "Color Run"!

In 2014 I hope we can do the same plus a few more. I'd like to do "Tough Mudder" and "Mudd Rush" with hubby and as a family the "Color Run" and "Run for a Reason" again and maybe the "City to Surf" and any others that come up!!

Onwards and upwards for 2014!!!!

On the way to our first "Color Run"

For the "Run for a Reason" the girls and I walked/ran the 4km course, while Sean did the 12km course. I was pretty proud of myself doing a 4km run with two kids on my own!!!!

Gotta stretch Mummy! (this was totally unprompted, I asked her to stand for a photo and she came out with this!).

My sister, husband and their two boys even joined us on the second "Color Run" we did! The kids loved having each other to run around with!
P.S. I am so lucky to live in such a beautiful city!

Do you have any family goals for 2014???

Bells a Jing, Jing, Jingaling!!

I fully intended on starting some Christmas posts somewhere around the 1st December. But somehow, here we are Christmas Eve and I haven't done a single Christmas post!

So here is what we have been up to in the lead up to Christmas!
Our Hexen House party ( oh wait I did do one Chrtistmas post!!)
Our tree this year is all only homemade or decorations that come from the girls "special decorations box" which has at least one ornament added each year for them to take with them when they leave home =).
Chloe got a sewing box for her birthday this year, so she got to do some Christmas sewing.

 Christmas card making.
Toilet roll fairy house decorations (original idea here )
 Nature wreaths (original idea here)
 SANTA!!
 Wrapping paper stamping.

Last day of school for the year!
 Santa sandwiches!
 School Christmas concert.
Toilet roll glitter stars (original idea here)

 Reindeer sandwiches
Hedgehog slice for Daddy's Christmas present.
Salt water taffy for the teacher's Christmas present ( can't for the life of me find the recipe! When I do, I'll update!)

Australian Christmas trees!

Christmas pillow cases
Christmas light walks.
Free Christmas lego (thank you Toy'R'Us)

My silly reindeers singing on the top of their lungs...Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer of course!

Christmas mice. I used to make these when I was a kid!
Every year we go into the city for a look at the decorations!

Have a very Merry Christmas everyone and a safe and Happy New Year!!!!!
